Hey Cindy,

The nice thing about WordPress is that you can set up a static website that is easy to update. I have done this with a couple of sites - www.PepperellMusicCenter.com and www.MillbrookLabs.com, and use a static home page for my site, Life Is Local. Even if you never decide to blog, WordPress has plugins that make it easy to have tabs, picture galleries, a shopping cart, and more. And, the search engines love WordPress.

I'm behind on my tutorials, and I'm working on something to provide a low-cost alternative, but there should be more up soon.

Thanks,
Chuck

Hi,
Thanks for this invaluable information. It's great.
I must admit I dabbled in WordPress and found it hard to use.
I have in mind what I want to create. I want a home pg with tabs that drill down to pages with images. I want to be able to open each page containing these images, click on an image and see an enlarged view of the image with a description of the image.
I want a banner of a quilt on the home page. I am not looking for "fancy" but I need to know what tool will best suit these requirements. I am not looking to create a blog. I want static pages.
Having said all this, what do you think?
Thanks again for all your help and attention.
Happy Holidays.
Kind regards,
Cindy Richard

Hi Chuck,
Thanks so much for posting these videos,, seems so easy to follow and makes a person feel like jumping in with both feet. But, I shall wait and see what other videos come next before I jump in...

Take care,

Hi Nan,

I did the videos in QuickTime, so you should be able to go to http://www.apple.com/quicktime/download/ and download the player for Windows or Mac. If you use Internet Explorer, you may have issues with the movie file playing in the browser. The best thing to do would be to right click on the link and download the movie file to your computer. Then, you can use the QuickTime software player to view the movie.

If you use a web browser like FireFox (www.firefox.com) or Google Chrome (www.google.com/chrome), you won't have any problems.

Good luck, and let me know how it works out.

Thanks,
Chuck
